This Series 1 Jaguar XKE, known as the E-Type in England, is powered by a six cylinder in-line 3.8 litre engine, with twin overhead camshafts and triple SU HD8 carburetors. Power is transmitted through a Moss 4-speed manual gearbox and limited slip differential. It features black upholstery, a black cloth top, original tool kit and jack and comes with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate. The chassis, body, engine, gearbox and differential numbers match. This LHD car, number 880766, was built on December 20, 1963 and delivered to Jaguar Cars, NY on January 17, 1964. The present owner purchased the car in 1981 with 52040 miles on the odometer. It has been in heated storage since the purchase until the restoration process began. The complete ground-up, rotisserie restoration, with an emphasis on originality, was completed in August, 2024. The car was entered in the Michigan Jaguar Club (JAGM) Concours d’Elegance on September 1st and won 1st place in the Champion division with a score of 99.96. On October 5 th, the car was entered in the Jaguar Club of Indiana (JAGIN) Concours d’Elegance in Indianapolis where the car earned 1st place in the Champion division with a perfect score of 100.00. Both events were JCNA sanctioned.
